24 MIT Sloan School of Management students visited BM Holding
MIT Sloan School of Management organized international visit under the leadership of the Director of MBA Student Affairs Office, Ms. Catherine Gamon to Turkey and visited BM Holding on March 20, 2012.
During the visit to BM Holding, MBA Students from MIT Sloan School of Management received information on several aspects of the business processes and projects and exchanged strategic ideas on roadmap and implementation issues. The students first participated in presentation on corporate strategies, vision and mission by Vice Chairman of BM Holding Özgür Çağlan KUYUMCU, who is also an MIT graduate. Later, BM Holding Groups Director Hakan KAZANÇ has provided extensive information on ERMENEK DAM and HEPP construction process which is the Turkey’s highest at its completion date, and the 6th highest in Europe. Mr. Hakan KAZANÇ has answered student’s questions on strategic process of planning and construction that led to a hot discussion on energy production using hydro plants in Turkey and globally. The MBA students has also took part in the presentation on geothermal works within the BM Holding that continues since year 2004 and help building BM’s comprehensive geothermal resources and capabilities, research and development capacity and know-how all are significant for Turkey’s geothermal sector.
MIT Sloan School of Management MBA students had continued their meetings after the luch and tasted an authentic Turkish cuisine in Ankara. In the afternoon, Lead Engineer has provided information on business plan, projects’ implementation processes and strategic planning, concerning waste to energy operations within the group.
The day at BM Holding had aroused for visiting MIT Sloan School of Management MBA students interest towards planning, implementation and operations of energy projects and plants and they found opportunity to debate the interesting issues among themselves as well as exchange views with BM representatives.
